In 1946 after liberation , according to the Act on the Establishment of Seoul National University (U.S. Military Government Act No. 102), the existing Kyungsung University (Kyungseong Imperial University), Gyeongseong Economics College, Gyeongseong Dental College (private), Gyeongseong Law College, Gyeongseong Medical College, Gyeongseong Mining College, Gyeongseong Normal School, Gyeongseong Technical College, Gyeongseong Women's Normal School, and Suwon Agriculture and Forestry College were abolished and Seoul National University was closed.It was the beginning of absorbing and integrating into . Seoul National University selects students through both regular and regular admissions. Except for regular admissions, only high school students can apply for regular admissions, and since regular admissions reflect only the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) 100%, graduates and those who have passed the qualification exam can also apply.. However, from the 2023 school year, it has changed to regular school records. 8.1. Occasional recruitment
- General Admission : After the first round of selection based on the student record and self-introduction letter, interviews and oral examinations are conducted for the first round of successful applicants to select the final successful applicants. The interview consists of solving a given problem and explaining the solution process to the professor. Except for the Department of Physical Education at the College of Education, the minimum academic ability standard for the College Scholastic Ability Test is not applied. Occasional general admissions account for the largest portion of Seoul National University admissions, and this seems to be because the average GPA of those who have passed the regular admissions is generally the highest. It is also a major screening process for students with excellent grades at top-tier special purpose high schools and private high schools to enter Seoul National University. They are students of special purpose high schools and autonomous high schools such as technical high schools, foreign language high schools, international high schools, and arts high schools. In the case of general high school pass students, students who graduated from schools with relatively high rates of admission to Seoul National University and medical school, including District 8, accounted for a large proportion. Some of the students who have passed the regular general admission are also high school students located abroad. However, in the case of students from high schools located abroad, including international schools, they enter Seoul National University through the global talent special screening, which is usually conducted twice a year. (However, you can apply only if you have a 12-year special qualification, so if you have attended school in Korea for even one year, you must apply regularly or Ji-gyun)
- Balanced regional selection development type : This is a type introduced to consider students from regions with relatively poor education, and is called 'Ji-gyun' for short. 8.2. 정시 모집[편집]
- 일반전형: 대부분의 학과가 대학수학능력시험 성적만을 100% 반영하여 선발한다 (의예과, 사범대학 계열 제외). 특이 사항으로 자연계열은 서로 다른 분야의 과학탐구 영역 Ⅰ+Ⅱ 혹은 Ⅱ+Ⅱ[예시:]를 응시해야만 한다는 조건이 있다. 전반적으로 합격 커트라인이 올 1등급은 우스울 정도로 높은 편이다. 특히 문과 입시의 경우 서울대 내에서 입결이 가장 낮게 형성되는 학과도 연고대 상경계 학과들보다 점수가 높다. 이공계에서도 괴랄한 백분위를 자랑하는 Ⅱ 과목 응시가 필수임을 고려하면, 수험생 선호도가 높은 일부 학과들의 합격자 수준은 상위권 의대 합격자 수준과 겹칠 정도로 들어가기가 어렵다. 다만 최근 들어서는 이과 학생들 중 서울대보다는 의치대를 노리는 최상위권 수험생들이 많아지면서 서울대학교 입학 조건을 만족시키려는 수험생들, 즉 Ⅱ 과목을 응시하는 학생들은 매년 감소하고 있는 중이다. 응시자들 중 상위권 수험생들이 많고 또 Ⅰ 과목에 비해 응시인원이 압도적으로 적은 Ⅱ 과목 특성상 국수탐 합산 점수의 누적 백분위 산출 시 불리함을 감수해야 하는데, 이러한 점이 의치대 입시에서 불리하게 작용할 여지가 다분하기 때문이다. 여담으로 공무원 시험처럼 늦게 정신차린 N수생들의 마지막 희망이기도 하다. 합격생의 고교 유형별 현황 자료를 보면 서울대학교 정시 일반전형 합격자의 55% 가량은 일반고 학생들이며, 현역으로 붙기는 매우 어렵기 때문에 합격자의 55~60%가 재수생을 포함한 N수생들이다.
- 기회균형선발특별전형(정원 외): 북한이탈주민, 특수교육대상자, 1~3급 장애인만 지원 가능하고, 대학수학능력시험 2개 영역 2등급 이내여야 한다.

- There is Pack Chagi as a traditional game of Seoul National University .
- Historically, before the 'Seoul National University Establishment Ordinance' was promulgated, few people learned the Korean language (Korean)., Kyungsung University School of Law Faculty Association decided to exclude Korean and Chinese from the entrance exam subjects.
