Some airlines have a convenient feature that allows you to block the seat next to you at a discounted price.


Let's take a look at that airline today.


Emirates Airline

From March 1, 2021, Emirates will allow Economy passengers to purchase up to three adjacent seats.


I'm doing it.  Empty seats can only be purchased at the airport check-in counters before departure, and the cost is around $55-165 per vacant seat.


Emirates has introduced this program to meet the needs of a diverse range of customers who want extra privacy and space.

Quantas Airline

Qantas has a program called Neighbor Free .

It's available for around $30-$65 on six routes used by economy passengers with flight times between 90 minutes and four hours.


For eligible routes, customers will receive a Neighbor Free reservation notification email 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time. To book, simply click on the link provided in the email, select the Neighbor Free option and pay with your credit or debit card.

Etihad Airline

Etihad Airways has a program called Economy Neighbor-Free .

Listed as one of the seat options, options available 72 to 4 hours prior to flight time are listed on the seat selection page.


You can make a reservation by entering your reservation reference number and name.

Passengers can choose adjacent seats for up to three seats.


Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand has a twin seat program for economy cabins . It is to use one seat, double the space. Passengers who want to use it must inquire about options at the check-in counter. The armrests do not fold completely, so you can't lie down, and it is only available on some flights, so you need to check at the airport in advance. It is said that about 70,000 won is charged for one way from Incheon to Auckland.


Fiji Airways

Fiji Airways introduced the My Bubble Seat program for the first time in 2021 .

Philippines Airlines

Philippine Airlines offers “ Choice Seat Neighbor-Free. “We are running the program.


For about $30, you can enjoy more space by blocking the seat next to you. You can comfortably board Economy Class by riding alone in every seat throughout the flight. You can verify your eligibility online before flight departure, receive an email invitation and purchase the option 48 hours before your flight or at check-in.


Sri Lankan Airlines

Sri Lanka Airlines also operates a Neighbor Free Seats program.


You must have a ticket number starting with 603 in the economy class, and if your flight departs within 48 hours and 4 hours, you can book a free neighbor seat online. Please note, however, that Free Neighborhood Seating facilities are not available to passengers who have requested special services such as wheelchairs, stretchers, baby seats and cots!
