The National University of Pukyong (President Jang Young-soo) announced that it has established a VR (virtual reality) education system for the first time in Korea to train fine dust experts.
The business group of Pukyong National University's Graduate School of Fine Dust Management (Director Noh Young-min, Professor of Environmental Engineering) recently set up a VR experience classroom on the second floor of Chungmugwan and started operating a VR education system with dedicated equipment and educational programs.
This system is a scanning line, an advanced fine dust monitoring equipment using lasers It allows users to experience the internal structure, operating principle, and equipment operation method of 'system' in virtual reality.
When trainees wear VR equipment on their heads and hands, it is a scanning line through images and videos implemented in 3D It is a way to experience 'system' virtually.
It's a scanning line Although the 'system' can express the distribution of fine dust concentration in a 5km radius at a high resolution of 30m, it was difficult to directly check the internal structure and operating principle because it is expensive equipment and is equipped with sensitive optical sensors.
Following the establishment of a VR education system as part of this year's education innovation program, the project group plans to expand VR lecture programs and expand VR lecture rooms next year.
Professor Noh Young-min, head of the project, said, "We will use the VR system to cultivate fine dust experts with a high understanding of the observation equipment actually used in the field, and strive to develop fine dust-related research through customized education in response to the developing high-tech equipment."
Meanwhile, Pukyong National University's Graduate School of Fine Dust Management has been operating a fine dust expert training track since it was selected as a university in the southeastern region last year by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Institute of Environment and Industry. <Pukyong Today>
