Five Symptoms in People Who Eat Too Much Sodium (Salt)

Everyone knows that excessive sodium is not good for our body. But it's hard to tell if it's bad for the body or if it's still okay.

Below, I explained five phenomena that occur when excessive salt is consumed. If more than two of them appear, please start paying attention, and if more than four appear, it is a sign that salt intake should be reduced immediately.

1. My mouth keeps drying.

Eating a meal with a high sodium content detects that the moisture balance is broken in our body and makes us keep drinking water. You can see that you keep drinking water after eating salty food. Of course, it's not good for you.

2. The ring is tight on my finger.

If you eat a lot of sodium, your brain releases hormones, preventing you from losing moisture in your fingers, which causes your fingers to swell. It is similar to number 1 above. If a ring that usually fits your finger suddenly feels too tight, suspect an excess of sodium.

3. I have a throbbing headache.

People with excessive sodium intake are more than three times more likely to have headaches than those who do not. I thought I had a headache simply because of stress, but isn't it amazing to think that I might have a headache because of the food I eat?

4. My head is blurry and I can't concentrate.

When sodium intake increases, dehydration occurs and the brain becomes hard to function due to dehydration. You now find it creepy that the right moisture balance affects not only the skin but also our body and brain activity.

5. I have to pee often or go to the bathroom often.

The kidneys are more active than usual to treat the salt absorbed by the body, so they often go to the bathroom. You drink that much water, and it becomes a vicious cycle of going to the bathroom often. It's an action that our body is trying to recover, so we should never force ourselves to endure it.
