How to solve the fever problem when using m1 MacBook Air and Chrome.
Recently, after purchasing m1 MacBook Air, I found that the fever was unbelievably worse than I expected. Apple service support and device replacement did not solve it.
I accidentally discovered the cause of the fever and I am writing to share this part. For those who are planning to purchase m1 MacBook Air or those who have similar problems with me, please refer to it.
The degree of heat generation goes back and forth between 70 and 80 degrees in terms of figures in "istat menu". The feeling of each location is that if you put your hand on the keyboard, you will sweat because it's hot. Above the keyboard, that is, the part connected to the monitor and under the laptop are hot.
The cause of the m1 MacBook Air fever.
In conclusion, the cause of fever in m1 MacBook Air is chromium. I didn't know that m1 MacBook Air and Chrome were so bad at each other. Of course, there are two additional conditions to generate heat rather than just turning on chromium.
1. Use chrome (more than 5 spears).
2. Use dual monitor.
If you don't use a dual monitor here, you won't get heat. However, when I use both chromium and dual monitor, I get a severe fever.
I don't do video work or design work, but I only use document writing (Google workspace) and surfing the Internet, but I was really embarrassed that Chrome, which is the most important thing in document writing, had this problem.
MacBook Air M1 Fever Problem Solving
The solution is to use the Safari browser. I heard that safari has improved a lot this time. So I tried to replace Chrome, but I was more uncomfortable with the unfamiliar UI/UX (especially the location of bookmarks and tabs) and the lack of expansion programs than I thought.
Nevertheless, it will be the most specialized browser for m1 chips, so I think using safari is the best cooling efficiency. And once again this fall, the best combination with m1 MacBook Air is definitely the Safari browser.
