Overcoming Airplane Fear(Flight Phobia) with Noise Cancelling Headsets and Headphones.

What is flight phobia?

When you worry about "flight phobia," the general reaction of people is generally strong, saying, "You don't die, so just get on board." Most people think of these mental symptoms as mostly personal and seem to have a social atmosphere where they don't worry seriously. That's why people with inner fear try to pretend to be calm on the plane.

In fact, it's not a fear of airplanes themselves, it's called "flying phobia," "disgusting," Aerophobia, Fear of Flight."

What are the symptoms of aero phobia?

The symptoms are generally as follows.

- increase in heart rate

- coldness in one's

- trembling of the body

- nausea

- shortness of breath

- suffocation

In my case, my fear of airplanes begins before I get on the plane. In fact, the tension that comes from the moment you buy a plane ticket makes you suffocated and unable to sleep well. My personality becomes sensitive, too.

Commonly-known solution to flight fear

If you look at articles and blogs about this, they generally make similar suggestions.

1. Find the Cause of Fear

2. Know that the plane is safe.

3. Breathe deeply.

Because of this phobia, I also started to look up airplane YouTube (communication between airplanes and control towers, take-off and landing videos), and before buying a ticket, I became a habit to look up what plane it was on the wiki and choose a large, low accident rate model.

A completely useless tip to overcome flight phobia is "Focus, such as watching books/movies or listening to music," because it's hard for people with phobia to concentrate for a minute.

Finally, an excellent solution to Flight Phobia - Noise Cancelling Headset

About three years ago, a friend without flight phobia bought a boss noise canceling headphone and said to me, "It was a really new flight experience. I could not hear anything, so my mind and body calmed down and felt really comfortable. I felt like I was in a different world." Since then, I have become interested in noise cancelling.

Since then, Apple's AirPods Pro has been released, and my flying experience has changed 180 degrees.

I bought an AirPod Pro and took a lot of flights, but noise cancelling was really an amazing experience for me, and finally I was able to watch movies and read books on the plane. I finished reading the book on the first day I wore it on the plane.

I often go back and forth to China, but when I hear high-pitched Chinese noises, I panicked, so I mostly avoided Chinese airlines, but now I can fly Chinese airlines without any worries.

I have no choice but to take it out of my ears for a while only when I eat in-flight meals or when my earphone battery runs out, but at that moment my hands get cold and nervous. However, if I put on my earphones again, I will be able to focus on my own world again soon.

(In the past, I was at a loss when I just bought a ticket, but now it's eased.)

Performance difference between Apple AirPods and Boss/Sony headphones ?

Naturally, AirPods Pro's noise cancellation performance is lower than Boss and Sony's headphones. For those with severe phobia, it would be helpful to use headphones. I hope it will be of some help to those who are afraid of flying and have never used noise cancelling earphones or headsets.
